1989 Peugeot 505 GLS

2.2 ZDJL with automatic transmission

~95,000 miles

I took a look at this car last week and it wasn't a car I could buy. I was specifically looking for a +86 car with a dark gray leather interior.

After talking to the owner, Paula, I said I'd put it on my web site to help her see that it goes to a nice owner that will care for the car. Turns out that Paula has long ties to the Seattle Peugeot community. She was owner of a business called "Peugeots, Etc." I don't remember it, but if you do, you might remember her.

She bought the car a couple of years ago and now uses a Japanese car to do city battle. She just doesn't have the room for it and it is currently parked on the street.

Here are my honest observations. It's semi-neglected. Seeing that the rain starts in October and doesn't really let up until May, unless a car is driven at least every other day, nature will try to reclaim it. The paint has the standard hood/roof fading, but it all there. The best things about the car are:

  1. It's original and complete
  2. The interior is very nice
    1. Heated seats work
    2. Fan blower doesn't squeal like a stuck pig like most 505s do
  3. It starts right up and the idle is fine after it's warmed up

This is a great low mileage car with a lot of potential. Would make a great daily driver. If you want to see it, it's in Kenmore (north of Lake City) in Seattle. You can reach Paula at 425-398-4377.

Some people have said that this is an 86 - based on the wheels. Here is a blowup of the above image of the side badge. I think it says 2.2i. This would mean the car has a 2.2 ZDJL OHC engine which was introduced in 1987. Thus, the wheels, although Peugeot items did not come with the car.
